IPAA and the University of Canberra are pleased to announce that the 2021 round for grant funding from the Public Administration Research Trust Fund is now open.

Speaking about the importance of public administration research to the profession, IPAA’s National President Dr Gordon de Brouwer PSM said that it had never been more important.

“Australia’s public services —state and federal — have faced, and continue to face, unprecedented challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, and are rapidly transforming to better serve the needs of governments and communities.

“I encourage anyone interested in researching Australian public administration and undertaking applied research that will support the work of public sector practitioners to apply for grant funding,” said Gordon de Brouwer.

The Fund is making $15,000 available in 2021 to support research that examines public service transformation agendas, capability, collaboration and federal-state relations, governance and integrity, and inclusion and diversity.

While researchers can apply for a maximum of $10,000 in grant funding, applications for smaller grants are also welcomed.

More information is available in the 2021 Call for Applications brochure.

Applications close on 28 May 2021.

Funding agreements with the successful applicants are expected to be finalised by 30 June 2021.
