IPAA ACT: Australian Statistician speaks to graduates on a data-driven APS

Earlier this month the Australian Statistician Dr David Gruen gave a virtual address to the 2020 Australian Public Service Graduate Data Forum.

David was introduced to speak on the topic of ‘A Data-Driven Australian Public Service’ by Emily Stirling from the Graduate Data Network Committee.

During his address, David spoke about the opportunities that COVID-19 has presented for the Australian Bureau of Statistics, recapped some of the lessons from a speech he gave on 11 March 2020 called ‘The Promise of Data in Government’, and talked about some of the exciting new opportunities that are opening up for data and data analysis.
