Craig Allen

Craig Allen is the Commissioner for Public Employment in the Northern Territory a position he has held since March 2014. Prior to taking up this role he was the Assistant Director-General, Department of Education, Training and Employment in Queensland. In this role he was responsible for strategic and corporate leadership in the management of the Department’s human resources.


Craig has held a range of senior executive public sector management positions for more than 18 years with a government career spanning more than 36 years.


Craig has a strong commitment to ensuring employment opportunities are available to all groups within the community with a focus on Indigenous employment, and also ensuring that contemporary human resource principles are applied to the public sector in the areas of recruitment and strategic workforce planning.
